“If a child can’t learn the way we teach, Maybe we should teach the way they learn.” – Ignacio Estrada

Our Mission

We believe in inspiring and motivating children in a secure, exciting, stimulating, nurturing and loving learning environment.  An environment where children are free to ask questions, explore and develop a love for learning.  Where we don’t sit and listen but do and learn.

We believe that every child should have the opportunity to meet their potential and develop academic, creative, social and emotional skills that will equip them to fulfil a happy and prosperous life.

We believe in establishing good relationships between parents, children and teachers, as we all strive to create the best and safest learning environment for our children.

Our Curriculum.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is progressive, with an emphasis on hands-on learning, and learning by doing. We provide developmentally appropriate activities and expectations. Balancing and developing the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive skills as a whole. By using various teaching methods and styles, we engage each and every unique learner.

Our Activities

Music

Each age group joins in a half an hour once a week of music, rhythm, and dance. Learning songs as well as doing a variety of movement to music, involving acting out stories and songs. Teacher Lichelle incorporates music into the development of good eye-hand co-ordination, and fun gross motor activity, rhythm exercise, focal exercise, group participation and confidence building. Learning about, and how to play simple instruments is part of the fun.

Movement

Formal movement lessons are planned and implemented into our weekly lessons. Co-ordination, mobility, and exercise will ensure your growing child has a healthy, agile, flexible, and strong body. Our little ones are presented with ample opportunities to pinch, roll, squash, squeeze, tweeze, peg, scoop, thread, and more to develop essential fine motor skills.

Baking and Making

Once a week the children participate in baking and making, where they will get to make their very own delicious treats! While having fun, they learn about the science, mathematics, and techniques of baking; squash it, melt or freeze it, sprinkle a little then pour half, then add 2 spoons and mix!

Science

Science activities are incorporated into our curriculum. Lessons mostly follow the STEAM principles – Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. We encourage cause and effect, as well as prediction making of what the children think the outcome of the experiment will be. Inspiring curious minds!

Themes

Through bi-weekly themes our children are introduced to our wonderful and beautiful world. From my body to the earth, recycling, the solar system, different types of animals, seasons, on the farm, transport, and so much more, our Piccolo’s can explore sensory trays and experience hands on learning. Learning important life skills while having fun.

Social and Emotional Development

Your child will learn to communicate successfully both verbally and non-verbally. To engage in the world around them, make new friends, and gain the confidence, self-esteem, and negotiating skills necessary for a lifetime of healthy relationships.
